Mid IR generation




Mid-infrared generation by using of solid-state optical material is limited by the absorption by the material itself. For example, the absorption bandedge in PPMgLN is about 6 micro meter and it is difficult to directly generate beyond this bandedge. However, high brightness and high power realuized by QPM devices enables to access Mid-IR wavelength region via OPO process by other nonlinear materials. As a result, our group successed producing a tunable photon source in whole fingerprint regions for molecules.
