Far IR (THz) generation



Recently THz photon sources (around 300 micro meters in wavelength) have been interested because of their possiblities for spectroscopies, securities, detections, and so on. Mainly there are two types of THz source: one is the broadband source based on femt-second lasers, and another is narrowband source based on OPO. While broadband sources are preferred for such as FTIR sources, they can offer limited output powers due to the relatively low power level of general femt-second lasers. On the other hand, narrowband THz source based on OPO can produce high THz output power due to the high output power of OPO sources by use of the QPM technology. We have proved the possibility of high power THz sources.
